During China Girl, Bowie had a lot of trouble with his voice, excusing himself after the song. Towards the end of The Motel, his voice disappeared and David became really nervous and said he couldn't continue with the original set list because of laryngitis. Always the absolute performer he continued but delivered a slightly cut-back 20 song show.
