Little Wonder

Lyrics by David Bowie.  Music by David Bowie, Reeves Gabrels and Mark Plati.

Stinky weather, Fat shaky hands
Dopey morning Doc, Grumpy gnomes
Little wonder then, little wonder
You little wonder, little wonder you

Big screen dolls, tits and explosions
Sleepytime, Bashful but nude
Little wonder then, little wonder
You little wonder, little wonder you

I'm getting it

Intergalactic, see me to be you
It's all in the tablets, Sneezy Bhutan
Little wonder then, little wonder
You little wonder, little wonder you

Mars Happy nation, sit on my karma
Dame meditation, take me away
Little wonder then, little wonder
You little wonder, little wonder you

CHORUS
Sending me so far away, so far away
So far away, so far away (x4)
So far away, so so far away
So far away, so far away
So far away, so so far away

  Little wonder
  You little wonder, you
  Little wonder
  You little wonder you

[If it's good to ya, it's gotta be good for ya]

CHORUS

You little wonder, little wonder you
Little wonder then, little wonder
You little wonder, little wonder you

The sampled spoken line just before the last chorus is (If it's good to ya, it's gotta be good for ya). This comes from the spoken introduction to a live track from Steely Dan, which appears on the boxed set Citizen Steely Dan. The sampled voice is the 14th track of the second disc, Bodhisattva (live), it's also available on Steely Dan: Gold. Added March 24, 1997.

As Bowie has pointed out, he intended to write a song where he used the names of the seven dwarves, Dopey, Doc, Grumpy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy and Happy.

Although it doesn't seem to appear on the album version, during live performances, Bowie appears to say "Train Time" before the first chorus.
